Q. #1 Hello Neeraj, it feels great to have you on Simplified Coding. So, tell us something about yourself, when you began to code, when did the passion to code turn into blogging, things like that.?
Hello Manish, it’s a great pleasure for me to be on Simplified Coding. I am a professional blogger, programmer and freelancer from a beautiful city Udaipur. I wrote my first program back in 2011 when I was in 11th class. In the same year I entered into blogging. One of my close friend Shailendra Paliwal introduced me to blogging and I was really impressed to know that it is something by which we can make money online. I am really thankful to him because whatever I have achieved in blogging is because of him.
Q #2 We all are programmers inspired by some other fellow programmers. What are the elements of inspiration into your life?
The programming itself inspired me. When I wrote my first program I was so fascinated by programming that I can instruct computer to do some task by just writing few lines of code. Pro bloggers like Kulwant Nagi, Harsh Agarwal and Amit Agarwal inspires me a lot to do better in blogging field.
Q #3 Which are sites you stay tuned to gain the expertise onto your coding skills?
For sharpening my coding skills I regularly visit competitive programming sites codechecf.com, hackerrank.com, etc. For improving my programming knowledge and learning new concepts I frequently visit stackoverflow.com, javatpoint.com, geeksforgeeks.org, androidhive.info, tutorialspoint.com, etc.
Q #4 Apart from your blog thecrazyprogrammer, what are your other enagagements?
Recently I have started another blog which is totally focused on java programming i.e. www.thejavaprogrammer.com. Apart from blogging I also make youtube videos.
Q #5 What have been the best and the worst moment in your life as a programmer yet?
I think as a programmer the worst moment is when the solution for a problem is not found even after spending several hours or days. You won’t believe that once I stuck at a problem and it took me 5 days to solve it. The best moment is when the problem is finally solved.
Q #6 How do you manage to keep yourself focussed and tenacious when you are flooded with Errors and Exceptions?
Sometimes it becomes really difficult to get focused. But Stackoverflow.com gives me courage to face any kind errors and exceptions. 😀
Q #7 What should be the approach of a beginner in programming to become a pro according to you?
One should focus more on doing practical than reading theory. The more you write code, the more you become better in programming. I have seen biggest mistake beginners do is that they try to remember the programs. Focus should be on learning the logics used in the programs.
Q #8 Apart from blogging, what do you think are career options for a pro level programmer?
I think freelancing is the best career option for programmers. If anyone is good at programming then he/she can do freelancing projects and earn huge. I have seen many programmers who are earing several lakhs per month by freelancing.
Q #9 What do you think about Mobile App development? What are apps you have worked onto yet?
Mobile app development market is growing really fast in IT sector. These days I am spending so much time in learning new things in android app development. I have developed an android app for online grocery store in my city. Apart from that I have developed 2-3 small apps for my personal use like flashlight app, notepad, etc.
Q #10 Apart from programming, what do you think about blogging? What do you have to say to the budding bloggers?
I started blogging as hobby and now I doing it full time. Blogging and freelancing is a great career opportunity. For newbies and budding bloggers I would say that quality, consistency and patience are 3 key points that they should always remember to get success in blogging field.
Q #11. How did you enrich yourself as a blogger? What are things you followed to learn blogging?
Google is the biggest mentor for me. I improved my knowledge by following other pro bloggers and their blogs.
Q #12. What was the reaction of your parents when they knew that you left the job and started Full Time Blogging? How you convinced them?
Papa supported me but Mom was really against my decision. Due to job security India parents believe more in job than business or entrepreneurship. I tried my best to convince Mom that blogging is good career option and I can earn a lot.
